Having to worry about whether to wear a green shirt or a blue shirt is about the biggest thing you have to worry about when you are little. There are no worries about bills, or college, or cars, or a job. Even when worrying about boys or friends its nowhere near the way we worry about them as teenagers...but the thing I remember most about my childhood is not worry about my future...at all.
Somehow I always knew that God would just bring it about. I knew that He had everything under control and I never doubted that He wouldn't let me in on it. These days though I'm always worrying...am I doing God's will, am I making the right carier choices, when am I gonna get married, who am I gonna marry, what if my family doesn't like him, what if I marry the wrong guy, what is he gonna be like, is he gonna wish one day that we never got married...and on and on an on. It's amazing how none of these thoughts ever entered my head when I was little.
Of course I wouldn't want to revert back to being a small child with no worries...I have a relationship with the Lord now that I never had when I was a child. But I would like to revert back to that mindset. When I trusted God with every inch of my future.
I cant believe how many times I have asked myself the question...who is it gonna be? A husband is a huge decision in a girl's life...but trying to guess who it will be years in advance will only bring unhappiness. Why don't we just trust these matters to the Lord? Do we trust Him enough to pick out the right guy?
There were times in my life where I was sure that God had got it wrong. "No Lord, You dont understand. If I lose this guy, that is it, I'm never gonna have another shot at getting married. Are You sure You didn't make a mistake here?"
Of course we dont actually say that but we feel that way sometimes.
We feel like God just doesn't understand. He doesn't understand how happy we are. He doen't understand how much better off you & he will be if God would just let you be together. He doesn't understand how he makes you feel. He doesn't understand that life these past few months with him has been better than it has been in a long, long time.
The thing is...He does understand all that...and what is even better, when you are there crying to Him about He doesn't understand He looks ahead in your future and then looks back at you and says "Oh yes I do, and I love you too much to let this happen".
